Q. CAN YOU PUT CNG ON MY VEHICLE?
A. NO, WE ARE IN THE BUSINESS OF SELLING VEHICLES MOSTLY FACTORY EQUIPPED WITH THE CNG OPTION. TO MY KNOWLEDGE THE ONLY AFTERMARKET SYSTEMS AVAILABLE ARE FOR 2002 AND UP FORD AND CHEVY PICKUP TRUCKS AND COST IN EXCESS OF $8500
Q. WHAT IS CNG.?
A. CNG IS COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS, IT IS THE SAME FUEL USED TO HEAT YOUR HOME AND COOK YOUR FOOD. IT IS COMPRESSED UP TO 3600 PSI IN ORDER TO GIVE YOU MORE RANGE
Q. HOW FAR CAN I GO ON A TANK OF CNG?
A. MOST FACTORY EQUIPPED VEHICLES HAVING ONE TANK WILL GIVE YOU A RANGE BETWEEN 110 TO 150 MILES. ON THE SMALL CARS THAT IS 3.5 TO 4.5 GALLONS AND ON A TRUCK WITH ONE TANK THAT IS ABOUT 8 TO 10 GALLONS.
Q. WHAT IS THE FUEL MILAGE ON CNG?
A. ON THE FULL SIZE TRUCKS IT IS ABOUT THE SAME AS GALOLINE, AROUND 15 TO 17 MPG, ON THE SMALL CARS IT WILL RANGE FROM AROUND 28 TO 32.
Q. DO I HAVE TO SWITCH IT BACK TO GASOLINE.
A. NEARLY ALL SYSTEMS ARE FULLY AUTOMATIC AND WILL SWITCH BACK TO GASOLINE WHEN YOU RUN OUT OF CNG. USUALLY THE GUAGE WILL SWITCH ALSO. YOU USUALLY WILL FEEL THE ENGINE MISS ONE TIME WHEN IT SWITCHES OVER.
Q. Is this system safe? Wont it blow up if you are in an accident?
A. The natrual gas system is fully approved by the NHTA and is much safer than
the gasoline system you now use. The tank is very thick and is reinforced by either
fiberglass or carbon fiber. It automatically shuts off if a cng fuel line is ruptured.
Q. Can you add more tanks to the vehicles.
A. You can add more tanks as long as you are willing to give up bed space in trucks or trunk space in cars. The last time we had tanks added it cost $650 to add two additional tanks for used tanks and all labor.
Q. Can I run propane in these vehicles?
A. No, even though the systems are simular in many ways, you cannot run propane
in a cng system or vice-versa.
Q. Are there any tax incentives?
A. The State of Oklahoma will refund you 10 percent of the sales price up to a total
refund of $1500. It is refunded via a tax credit on your State of Oklahoma income tax. Say if you qualify for a $700 refund, if you have paid in $700 this year in state income taxes, you can apply for the credit and get it all back. If you have not paid in
the full amount, you can apply for as much as you have paid in, and then you can reapply over the next two years for as much of the balance as you can. This is a one time per lifetime of vehicle rebate, and nearly all of my inventory is included.
